Yaya Tales (online brand name for Lauren du Plessis) ("me", or "my") operates http://www.yayatales.com (the "Site"). This page informs you of my policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information I receive from users of the Site.
I use your Personal Information only for providing and improving the Site. By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information Collection And Use
While using my Site, I may ask you to provide me with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to your name ("Personal Information"). This would happen if you fill out my Contact form, for example. This information is not stored anywhere outside of Wix (this Site's platform) and my connected Google Mail account.
Like many site operators, I collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit my Site ("Log Data").
This Log Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser type, browser version, the pages of my Site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics. This helps me to see which of my articles or images are most popular - so I know to make more of that kind in the future!
This site was built with Wix. You can read all about their Privacy practices here: https://www.wix.com/about/privacy. In addition, I sometimes use third party services such as Google Analytics that collect, monitor and analyze Log Data. Again, this is aggregate data I use just to see how visitors use the Site, and what they like in particular. If you would like to opt out of Google Ads tracking you can do so here.
Cookies are files with small amount of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a web site and stored on your computer's hard drive. Then, if you visit the website again, the cookie will be called by the website - so it will know if you have visited before, for example.
You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. You can learn everything you need about cookies here: https://www.aboutcookies.org/
However, please note that if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of my Site - some things might display strangely, for example.
If you wish to change your cookie settings and/or withdraw consent so this website won't place cookies in your browser, you can do so at the bottom of this page - scroll down! This is the Cookie Declaration. Tapping Change Your Consent will bring up the cookie banner, where you can turn certain cookies on and off as you prefer.
Embedded content from other websites
Some pages on yayatales.com include embedded content (e.g. videos and images) from other websites. For example, I embed YouTube videos to show my channel's content. Embedded content from third-party sites behaves in the same way as if you have visited the third-party site itself. You can delete and manage cookies that have been placed in your browser setting if you wish, but be aware that blocking cookies, preferences etc might mean the embedded content won't work (e.g. a video won't play). I may also choose to link to other websites in blog posts, for example sources I have read for research. I take no responsibility or liability for the content or privacy practices of any external website.
I may use your Personal Information to contact you with newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information in future, if you have explicitly opted in to this. You would be able to withdraw from at any time by reaching out to me or tapping ‘unsubscribe’ in any email communication.
Occasionally I advertise this Site using Facebook or Instagram ads. As with your Log Data, I only see aggregated results that tell me which ads were the most popular (which had the most clicks or likes, for example) with certain age groups, geo locations, and more. You can visit your Facebook Settings to keep up to date with how you want Facebook to advertise to you.
The security of your Personal Information is important to me, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While I strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, I cannot guarantee its absolute security.
I want to make sure everyone who visits understands how my Site works so we all
feel safe and happy using it. Again if you have any questions please let me know.
